First Snaps with the Sony A7r

Here are our first snaps from the Sony A7r. The 90mm f/2.8 lens from the Contax G was perfect for our trip to the nursery. The camera was set to shoot raw. These images were sent to the smartphone via the Sony A7r's WiFi and NFC feature. SnapSpeed from Google was then used to tweak the files and here are the results.

The wireless transfer of files are so easy that we are thinking of getting the EyeFi memory card for the NEX-7.

More on the A7r in the days to come.

  1. Congrats ! interesting takes.. I'm curious to learn more about your experiences, especially with the Contax G lenses, since I own five of them and have just got an A7r too. So there are many questions I'd like to see answered, like :

Which adapter are you using for your Contax G lenses ? Did you try the smart adapter allowing AF ?
Which Contax G lenses do you own and how did they perform on the A7r (supposing you have already tried them)..

    1. I used a generic manual focus adapter. It's not the best feeling adapter but it works. I have not tried the AF adapter. I've only tested the 90mm but from other a7r users 35mm, 45mm G lenses should work great.
